Weddings at Vintage Villas

Jack Strong, Texas State Senator from Longview, built a successful Hotel business by building road side hotels and motels along Texas. His dream was to build a unique hotel in a Villa style that allowed friends and family to come together and stay under one roof. He found the ideal location; six acres on a bluff overlooking a gorgeous expanse of Lake Travis and the Texas Hill Country with the best sunset view he had ever seen. With the site chosen and the design completed by famous Austin architect Sinclair Black, Vintage Villas Bed & Breakfast was born.

In 2000, Thomas Porter, the current owner was hired as the General Manager. Thomas’s hotel career started at the age of 18 at a Hilton Hotel while attending the University of Texas. His years of experience in luxury hotels, knowledge of food and beverage and a true desire to serve were the perfect recipe to bring the Vintage Villas concept to live. Thomas and wife Vicky, also a hospitality professional and hotel General Manager, began to make the transformation from Bed & Breakfast to Vintage Villas Hotel & Events.

Thomas and Vicky met while working together at the Austin Hilton. Vicky is a graduate from the prestigious Shannon College of Hotel Management in Shannon Ireland. They met while she was interning her final year of college and working at the Austin Hilton.

After seven years as General Manger, Thomas and Vicky bought their dream hotel. They, along with two others passionate about Vintage Villas and experienced in the hospitality industry, formed a partnership called Lakeview Hospitality and purchased Vintage Villas Hotel and Events. Thomas continues work in the hotel daily and is still the Vintage Villas General Manager. Vicky is an active advisor in the hotel industry but spends a majority of her time now managing the couple’s four children.

Vintage Villas Hotel & Events is family owned and operated by service driven professionals that live in this community. They are community leaders active in the Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce and have never denied a request for a charitable donation that serves this community. The staff at Vintage Villas Hotel & Events has had the pleasure of hosting over 1000 weddings, romantic and family getaways and corporate events that include 3M, Polycom, Tokyo Electron, Seaton Family of Hospitals, Texas Municipal Courts.
